IMMOBILIZER EMULATOR FOR LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 3 / RANGE ROVER SPORT

Immobiliser emulator for LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 3 L319 / RANGE ROVER SPORT L320 vehicles.

Currently tested ECUs with which this emulator works include: SID204, SID203, 5WS40278B-T, 5WS40061F-T.

The immobiliser system library used in the ECU SID204 from LAND ROVER/RANGE ROVER vehicles is not the same as in JAGUAR with SID204, we have a different special emulator for Jaguar SID204.

We do not need to modify the flash file or the eeprom file in the ECU, so it remains in its original state, we only transfer the synchronisation bytes from the ECU to the emulator.

Four wires should be connected: CAN-H, CAN-L, GND (ground) and +12 V IGN ( terminal „15”) or +12 V after the ECU/ECM relay. Ensure the connection adheres to the vehicle’s repair schematics.

The colors of the corresponding wires are specified in the photo.

The location of the eeprom 24C02 memory is also specified in the photo.

Please remember the CAN terminator – terminator resistor, is in many cases indispensable especially when the ECU works standalone.

On emulator PCB we have 3 x LED GREEN, RED, YELLOW, thanks to them we can carry out diagnostics of the emulator connection, they clearly indicate the current status of the CAN bus connection and the status of matching to the ECU.

The emulator is designed for the HS-CAN bus of LAND ROVER vehicles, replacing the communication of the immobiliser with the BCM based on the 9S12 + PIC18F6620 microcontroller, from which we are also able to extract the synchronisation code for the emulator.

This solution allows the 2.7 TDV6, 3.6 TDV8 Landrover engine to be used for buggy projects.

In the process of preparing and testing the emulator, we need ECU files from all 3 areas: MPC, Flash and eeprom, as we create a copy of the ECU on our table and test the data for proper emulator operation.
